Music prepared by local flute students
Description
It is among the oldest musical instruments (the oldest existing flute was carved by Neanderthals some 60,000 years ago) and has become central to the music of peoples from pre-Columbian Americas to Chinese classical music to the Irish jig to the symphony orchestra. Learn about the artistry behind this beguiling instrument as soloist Marina Piccinini works with young Chicago-area flute players.
