New in 2019: Pritzker Pavilion Sound System Gets an Upgrade
The speakers and audio control systems at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion have been completely upgraded.
Sunny skies, blossoming flowers, and the increase in the number of visitors flooding the streets of downtown Chicago are sure signs that warm weather is approaching, but for the team at Millennium Park, it's time to get the Park ready for summer.
After 15 years as one of the world’s best outdoor concert sound systems, the speakers and audio control systems at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion have been completely upgraded for the 2019 season. The new upgraded system represents the cutting edge of audio technology—once again elevating the Pritzker Pavilion as the world’s best outdoor audio experience. The $2.5 million upgrade was 100% supported by Millennium Park Foundation through the generosity of the Pritzker Family Endowment.
“The concert experience at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion is an integral part of the Millennium Park experience,” said Scott Stewart, Executive Director of the Millennium Park Foundation. “Millennium Park Foundation is pleased to support the upgrade and enhancement of the Pavilion’s audio system, which will further elevate the uncompromisingly high standards of art, architecture, design, and performance the world has come to expect from Millennium Park.”
