Description
The Grant Park Orchestra returns to the Harris Theater to welcome guest conductor Eric Jacobsen for Respighi's thrilling homage to the Eternal City—the volcanic tone poem Pines of Rome. The program includes Copland's contemplative Quiet City and the Illinois premiere of a Festival co-commission—Jessie Montgomery's tribute to the people of New York's Lower East Side, a viola concerto featuring soloist Masumi per Rostad. The concert opens with Dvořák's Carnival Overture.
