Tonight, Carlos Kalmar and the Grant Park Orchestra offer up one of Johannes Brahms' favorite composers with the Fuchs Symphony No. 2 alongside Brahms' cheeky Academic Festival Overture. Also, the Orchestra welcomes one of the most exciting young musicians to come onto the music scene in recent years. Composer and bass-player extraordinaire Xavier Foley joins the Grant Park Orchestra to play the Divertimento Concertante by the legendary Italian film composer Nino Rota.
