Rain Policy

The Grant Park Orchestra and Chorus play rain or shine.

Concerts in the Rain

Some of the most magical Grant Park concerts have included the accompaniment of a few rain clouds. Don’t hesitate on coming to the park because of the weather forecast—just grab your umbrella and join the many faithful patrons who, like the musicians, show up rain or shine! Plus, the Great Lawn is specially designed to not retain any excess water, meaning that if it rains in the early afternoon the lawn may be completely dry in time for an evening concert.

Umbrellas are welcome in the Seating Bowl when the weather is inclement

Concerts are only canceled if weather is severe and unsafe. The decision to cancel a concert is never made until the scheduled concert time, or shortly thereafter.

Please note refunds are not available for weather-based issues.
